    Default Cash only hotel

    Hi all,
Would anyone know of a hotel in Dublin that you can just walk in and book a room there and then with cash without ID? Asking for a friend 🤪

No idea but unless you are planning to wreck the joint does it matter?, the hotel don’t really care what their guests get up to as long as they don’t annoy other guests

Hotels need Guests Credit Card details to reduce the possibility of Guests pilfering some or all of the hotel rooms infrastructure that is not nailed or tied down.

I doubt whether you will find anywhere that will take only cash.

I highly doubt it Hun, I know you can get places like this in Europe because they cater for affairs and escorts and stuff like that, but not in Holy old Ireland, if anything it’s the opposite, some hotels are now gone strictly card only no cash on the premises, and you will always need a card even if you can make even just a part payment on your hotel fee using a card and pay the rest in cash if you don’t want to do this the hotel will likely seek a high deposit of around €500 in case you cause damage to the room, I wouldn’t be overly paranoid about them having your two details, every hotel that I use has my true details and my true ID and it’s never created a problem for me, but if it’s the case that you are worried about someone seeing your bank statements if you could possibly make a part payment of say €50 using your card and then pay the rest in cash if it was ever questioned why did you spend €50 at this hotel perhaps you could say it was lunch with a colleague or something like that???

Thanks so much for the response and advice! Yeah, I figured it would be very difficult to find somewhere that didn't at least take card details for a deposit. I'll keep hunting! Thanks everyone for the replies

The Gibson will take cash. They will require a sizeable deposit (fair enough) BUT they also require photo ID!

Don't know if works or not, could you not use a prepaid Mastercard like Swirl? ..I assume you would have to pre load it to cover a deposit as well as the hotel rate

Still don’t know what the problem is, do you share your credit card with a partner?, if you do then time to knock that on the head, I dread to think of the crap I’d be in if anyone but me had access to my statement, would have struggled to explain agent provocateur online
