Floating on Twitter, a guy was offering Deepfakes as some type of service. I wasn’t familiar with the term nor the end result. Jesus! It’s going to be a scary world in the future! We won’t know what’s real, who did or said what and/or who’s body/face is their own.

If you are unfamiliar. My face could be super imposed onto a well endowed man and you’d swear it was all me!

Not just public figures. I'm not sure the particulars of what HH6 has seen offered but I have heard of there being a service that would deepfake anyone into any situation. So, some random creeper could send in a few photos of the girl he's stalking and have a custom video made... That's fucking crazy. Then what, he decides to upload it and a life is ruined. What about EXs using the technology to wage emotional warfare, custody battles, division of assets... It's more fucked than helpful for sure and needs to be a good bit more under control.

To be honest, I didn’t know this was a thing that existed! But your summary is fairly accurate. It was some creep, clearly just wanting pics to do body switches. Like how accurate technology can work and if it’s half convincing, any scenario can be created by a third party! I love technology and how it can work but this seems to be a significant downside to how things have developed! Unsure how people protect themselves against these things

That's the scary part, how to protect oneself against it. Especially in an age where society is so conditioned to share every waking moment of ones life. Everything a bad actor needs is floating around out there and we've put it out there ourselves.

Back to the public figures part... It's bad enough that videos and sound bites are already being purposely used out of context to further an agenda, but now we actually have the means to create that scenario in such a believable way that it will become harder to disprove the lie than prove the truth.

DeepFakes of world leaders or politicians can start a war - and will .

Can start uprisings and genocide ( Myanmar - wasn’t even DeepFakes , just Facebook ) .

Can collapse the Stock Market - and will .



But even on personal level when you’re just an average person , it can irreparably ruin a life ::

A recent story that’s gone wide :

Young ( early 20s ? ) girl on her Insta account has only ever posted herself doing everyday things ,

: baking a cake , photos about her dog , etc ; mundane .

Attractive , beautiful young girl : has Never posted any risqué content , always fully clothed ,

not flirting , not fishing ;

she’s not an OF kind of girl , just a regular , straight well-brought-up kid .


Whoever or not ; for whatever reason or not : had posted a plethora of porn with her likeness .

She has Never done anything to warrant undue attention , never sought ‘fame’ , just an

everyday innocent girl who all of a sudden found herself the center of huge scandal and

controversy , ‘her’ X-rated images and porn content disseminated , mailed to Friends List etc.

Her life ruined , had to drop out of school , change towns , lost her friends , and family respect .

She was in tears , sobbing , asking “Why they’d Do that !?” , “what am I to Do !?”


If your likeness is present Anywhere on the World Wide Web :: can happen to you .

In this case it was a horrendous senseless exercise :: the next person may be sent the

DeepFake material and be blackmailed - unless you pay X amount , it goes viral .

Can you imagine Your life falling apart ?

Your job , your kids’ school , your neighbors ; all in your Contact List and Friends groups .


I think we lost the run of ourselves with DeepFakes , with AI … old rules no longer apply .
