Basically it's hacking your iphone so that you can customise it the way you want with third party apps / programs and it also allows you to download from a pc and install hacked itunes applications which there are thousands of, if you have one of the earlier 3gs iPhones and you haven't updated the firmware you can even unlock it to work on any network..
