Biggest reason for me not to vote Sinn Fein is how they covered up paedophiles within their ranks.

If McEntee were to lose in the motion of no confidence next Tuesday the Taoiseach would be considered unable to appoint ministers to form a government, in which case we'd have to have a general election between Dec 27 and Jan 3.

Irrespective of whether you like or dislike Helen Mc Entee, if the vote of no confidence were to be passed it would represent a victory for those thugs that caused the mayhem. Therefore I expect it will be a victory for the Gov.

Agree that the government will keep their Justice Minister but I disagree that scalping McEntee "would represent a victory for those thugs that caused the mayhem." There were numerous reports during the summer of members of her own party looking to oust her, members of the Gardaí being demoralised by her comments and voters who felt she was out of touch about the safety of Dublin's streets; she is obviously not liked by many at all.

Seriously, how is it her fault, or the Garda commissioners fault? All those events happened in a matter of hours, they don’t have loads of guards sitting around Waiting for a riot to kick off I just don’t get all this blaming her and blaming the commissioner.

The government has mismanaged the country's finances for years.
Lack of housing, the Gardai are worse than useless, and the health service is beyond a joke.
Dublin isn't safe, thugs robbing/killing at will, junkies all over the place.

This is little to to with the right, or with racism, the riots were caused by the disillusionment of people from the obvious dysfunction our society.

And what does our government do, rush in legislation to remove our rights to criticise them.
Hate speech my arse, they'll suit themselves when to apply it like everything else in this country.

I agree and disagree with you Jenny.. in relation to the riots I don’t think the minister or commissioner can really be blamed however this far right shit has being going on for months… pricks protesting about everything and anything.. harassing just about everyone in the country…they were the ones who were egging on the rioters ….more should have been done earlier to stamp that out!! I’m no political expert but that’s my 2 cents

I'm very confused by your view that it's anything to do with the far right.
I doubt many of the rioters know what right or left even mean.

Nobody knows better than the poor in the centre of Dublin about the mismanaged tax payers money that hasn't been spent on education, health, policing or housing.

You should take a walk around Dublin day or night and see the junkies on every street and imagine living in the squalor.
The business owners complaining that recidivist criminals continue to cause havok for businesses while the Gardai do nothing. Courts that let criminals caught 100+ times back out on our streets

But how dare they complain. The cheek of them.
As long as our government can lick the arses of their mates in Europe and tell each other over dinner with a fine bottle of wine, how great they are, at the expense of the peasants.

    Let them eat cake.

But let's not address the issues, let's make it illegal for them to protest.
And I don't mean riot, although we wouldn't be talking about it it this didn't happen.

    Conor McGregor for Taoiseach.
The really laughable part about that is, if you could laugh at this is he would probably do a better job than the current lot.
What a sad state of affairs when I even think this as a possibility

The vast majority of the people rioting weren’t in my opinion the poor from the centre of Dublin… most were dolled up in better clothes than I have…I have absolutely no doubt that people in Dublin are struggling….as for the “junkies” I do agree that the drug problems in this country is out of control even where I live which is quite rural.. I’m never going to defend the government..not for a single moment…but thugs looting shops and businesses where honest people make their living is bang out of order
