Aw, I had a feeling when I read that he had been discharged from hospital that it was to go home for his final days. Kind of poignant just before Christmas.

    "I could have been someone"

He really was someone, an extremely gifted yet down to earth unforgettable musician. His voice was so genuine and just honest.
Like so many talented people he seemed to drag himself down a road of self destruction. RIP Shane..... or should that be- Let her RIP Shane

Awh thats sad news about shane. So many good songs over the years with the pogues and also with the dubliners, kirsty mccoll and sinead o connor. Sad to say i must be on my way, so buy me beer and whiskey cause im going far away, i'd like to think of me returning when i can, to the greatest little boozer and to sally maclennane. Rip shane.

Think it’s kinda nice that this time of year his song will be on every radio station around most of the world.. it’s kinda a fitting tribute to the man… RIP

I saw The Pogues in Carrickmacross in the eighties. It was just mental, overcrowded, sweat dripping off us, place full of smoke, broken glass and blood on the floor and we couldn't really hear the sound was awful. It was a great night! 😁
    RIP Shane.
