I’ve already stated as I fully support any immigrants who comes here and will integrate and woodwork and will contribute to society. Which side should they stay and fight for? The Taliban/Syrian Army or the other side of both of those conflicts that has zero weaponry to fight with and has been completely abandoned internationally, meaning that is isn't stay and fight it is stay and die against an army who is funded and equipped infinitely better than the other side is.

"Military Aged Men" is the current dog whistle phrase. It is meaningless, and basically means that huge numbers of people cannot ever be considered in need of asylum. Take a 40 year old from Afghanistan. There was about ten years of that person's life where his country wasn't at war. And those 10 years were under the control of the Taliban, hardly respite. Basically 40 years of trauma.

Stay and fight? Why would you? Why would anyone?

Right starting with Afghanistan. They were not left with nothing. They were left we modern army well equipped, APCs, tank, helicopter gunships etc all the works. They had far superior weapons and far out numbered the Taliban, but the wast majority of them chose to flee instead of fighting. They ran from the country leaving the Taliban billions in military equipment to enslave their wives and children. So no the Afghan people were not abandoned by the west they were abandoned by its own men. The same men who are now here.

As for Syria again bull. The US didn't abandon Syria it got exactly what it wanted from Syria, the oil field in northern Syria. Billions of dollars worth of oil being taken illegally and from Syria by the US..

Won't be a problem. Leo already stated Ireland will not be taking in Palestinian refugees. It would probably look bad to to help out the people of Palestinian after our EU overlords gave Israeli our full backing.
