Max Verstappen up to second. Charles Leclerc eight seconds ahead. But has yet to pit. Safety car would favour Ferrari with a free pit and would disadvantage Max Verstappen.

    Charles Leclerc pits.
    Max Verstappen now leads.

    Safety car.

Kevin Magnussen really hard crash. Looks like suspension failure. Kevin Magnussen out but looks shaken.

Charles Leclerc pitted just too early.
Max Verstappen takes advantage and pits.

Race stopped. Barrier needs a repair.

You must be able to tell the future steve. You had no sooner said it and the safety car is out.

Let's enjoy the restart from this red flag.

Not really to Max Verstappen's advantage.
Will wipe out his lead and give everyone the chance to change tyres and Charles Leclerc to change his front wing.

How they restart is up to race control but is a standing start with lights like a normal start.

Running start behind safety car would have favoured Max Verstappen. Standing start chance for Ferrari get a jump on Max Verstappen.
Lewis Hamilton would be in the mix too.
But I would not bet against Max.
    Thirty-six laps left.

    Max Verstappen on hard tyres.
Some, like Lewis Hamilton on mediums.
