Thread: Medical question

  1. #1

    Default Medical question

Went to pass stool this morning and went to flush and noticed blood in water, also saw it on paper, got shock as well anyone would, rang my doctor but cannot get appointment til next week, I'm not going into a%e either as its meant to be mental in waiting times so I'll have to wait for Dr... Has this ever happened to anyone and found out it was nothing serious?
I also do not do sexual stuff in that area before anyone thinks it's damage from anal or anything

Happened to me before, I posted it to the Doc and he sent it off for further investigation, then it was lost somewhere in the HSE warehouse.
He asked me to go in and produce another sample, I got stage fright and strained till I was blue in the face and nothing......unbelievable Jeff

    Not a Dr.

Typically fresh blood in a BM is of lower concern, blood mixed in the stool is a bit more concerning. Hopefully you explained your particulars to your Dr and they made an assessment based on the info (no red flags, normal scheduling procedure). If you start to experience any abdominal pain / cramping or unusual bloating / distended abdomen I would seek more immediate care.

Don’t panic, you probably put too much effort in and created a slight tear or at worst it’s a pile, if the blood was a vivid red then it more than one of the reasons above

Most likely just piles but get it checked if it does not clear up by the end of October,

increase your fibre intake, drink a lot of water, in the meantime and soften the stools.

All good advise also , what you've consumed can lead to an assumption ( there's a good word) beetroot can appear as bloodlike.
