Default Stories you can only tell here

So this happened a few years ago and I've had nowhere appropriate to share..:-p

Phoned a girl in Dublin, she gave me general location, an area I knew well..got to the nearest landmark and phoned..she gave me the apartment building..hmmm, I know this VERY well..so get to the door and she texts me apartment number..my old apartment! Feeling very strange I go upstairs and girl opens the door and leads me to my old bedroom which I shared with my then and current girlfriend...I tried,I did, but I couldn't get it working, the whole thing was just too weird for me brain (and other parts) to process !

To be honest, I get where you’re coming from but I reckon my main concern would be the neighbours recognising me and coming out to greet me.
I arrived at a girls place having only been given the street name initially, when she told me the house number I relocated to outside and told her I was parked outside. When I parked, a man stopped me to burn the ear off me about how I found my electric car, he’s telling me his land cruiser is a gas guzzler etc meanwhile my phone is hopping with messages in my pocket which later I found out were saying what the hell is the man saying and is everything ok. I never got a chance to check the phone before I walked up the drive to have the door opened by a somewhat distressed lady, whom I knew well at this stage. When I told her what he was asking me she was very amused but only after a while.

Went to a complex I hadn’t been before one time (S’ford) and it was a good bit away from anywhere else I’d been to that was advertised in the same area.
I arrived early and was parked in a secluded spot with an idea of numbers etc.
Saw a builder walking around frantically trying to sus out the numbering system. Saw him go in the main door of where I wanted to be, thought he must’ve been quoting for something maybe. I got my business done really quickly as was a fab service, she offered the massage after and unusually I accepted! When I was facedown, all I could hear through the wooden floor was a girl getting buried by a chap and he starts calling her name and I’m giggling to myself thinking I’d seen her somewhere else and wondered which part of the area she operated out of. Was so cringe, he continued to call her by name and just after he blew his beans he told her in a frantic voice it was the best rhymes with Donald Duck he’d ever had in his life and she was amazing.
Low and behold, myself and the builder were retrieving our vehicles at the same time, he was looking rather smug and presumably there were no quotations given from him.

Came out the door of an appointment to see a gent across the street staring over at me, he had the phone to his ear and that unique look of slightly lost and very guilty about him, pretty sure he was the next client only a few mins early. He moved on in a flustered manner.

On the way home I stopped off to do some shopping, on my way back to the car I pass an old regular haunt of mine, there's a bloke approaching the door, clocks me and looks incredibly guilty and then switches to 'nothing to see here' mode, almost thought he was going to start whistling like in a cartoon, anyway I ignored him and up he went to the buzzer - mad when you see fellow punters in the wild and wonder 'do I always look that guilty!?'.

I was in Tesco in Cork, next in line at the tills behind my wife.
In front of her getting served was the Escort that I met the week before. I don't think the escort noticed who I was.
My wife sandwiched between the two of us 😬

Whistling like a cartoon had me laughing out loud here 😂

I remember about two years ago I visited a girl in a fairly small apartment block there's only 4 floors and maybe 3 or 4 flats on each floor. I had to park the car a few streets away as theres no parking handy near her block, the residents car park is behind a keyfob access gate.

I knew the apartment as I had been before so I rang her anyway as I was walking along and just about to get to the door and she texted back to say she was sorry she would need another 15 minutes. I knew probably she had another gentleman who had overstayed, was no problem for me I wasn't in a rush and I read the text just as I passed the block of flats so I kept walking right past the front door and continued straight ahead. I allowed right I will walk in this direction for 7 or 8 minutes and then turn around and come back and that'll be the 15 minutes passed. Was better than standing around sticking out like a sore thumb.

I did this anyway and I was about a minute away from the flats again when she started texting again. "Ok I am ready now where are you? Front door should be open in a minute" I was delighted with myself I had timed it to perfection and it was even better that the door would be open no standing around waiting for her to open it and again possibly sticking out to the neighbours.

Got to the front door and a fella in his 60s appeared at the other side of the frosted glass, the way he was nervously fumbling around with the door I knew he must have been the guy that had delayed my booking. When the door opened I almost started laughing, he was dressed like a cartoon character big brown hat, trench coat, umbrella under his arm. Reminded me of inspector gadget. Poor fella was getting redder and redder and like a deer in headlights as he tried to rush past me and get out of there. I was in a great humour and looking forward to my visit so I gave him a big smile and said "lovely day for it".

Although I had a nightmare the first time I visited that apartment myself. I stupidly used the stairs instead of the lift both before and after my visit. The apartment was on the 3rd or 4th floor up but on my way back down in my own haste to get out of there I lost track of how many flights I had come down and I ended up going to level -1. The front door out to the street was obviously ground floor but the only exit on this floor one below was at the back of the building and led out to the residents car park. Again, in my panic to get out I stupidly walked out this back door and before I realised I was at the wrong exit the door had slammed shut behind me and you needed a fob to open it.

"Shit shit shit" I stopped and took a few deep breaths to try calm myself down. Walked towards the car park exit and all I could find was a locked gate. My mind was going a million miles an hour, like I said this place was tiny and I had no business walking around the tiny car park if anyone saw me they'd surely be suspicious. Luckily just as I was about to turn back and start panicking again I spotted a family loading their kids into their car. I took out the phone and pretended to be chatting to someone and waited for the family to drive out and open the gate, I quickly followed behind and made my escape. I know I could have rang the girl I had visited for help but her English hadn't been great and I was in such a panic I know I would have struggled to explain what was going on. Learned my lesson that day, take your time don't rush and always take the lift.

must have been one of the times you were doing your "due diligence" / "paying attention" / "watching" / "looking out" at the loiterers :_:

More often than not the reasonable lady will sense you are genuine, give the details and ask that you just courtesy call 10 mins before to make sure she is available. A quick knock and your in, very discreet and I must say it helps me to be less anxious.. sometimes when English is poor it doesn't work out and I find another provider or wait for another day. It avoids the whole walking around beetroot faced with a mobile phone pressed to your head that I have seen men doing as they panic trying not to look like a man paying for sex.
