So thats the group phase over. I suppose city are still the team to beat. Maybe real madrid and bayern their main rivals. There's a few tough looking 2nd place teams, psg, napoli and inter. The draw for the knockout phase is on monday. City wont fear anyone but i would imagine arsenal would want to avoid them 3.

They will be very disappointed to have lost 2 of their 3 home games, especially after beating psg in their first game. Strange how they took 4pts off psg but only 1 of ac milan and none of dortmund.

So with ac milan winning tonight will that affect the number of places pl teams get in the cl next season? I think its just 2 countries that get 5 places and at the moment it would be germany and italy. Does anyone know is that right?

I think you are right in what you say , 5th place from 2 countries qualify .
It appears to have been taken for granted that English teams would do well and at least 3 teams would progress to knockout stages.
It has been disappointing that 2 of the 4 teams finished bottom of group.
EL and ECL also are taken into consideration, but I assume to a lesser degree.
