Chat function

I really miss the chat function that used to be on this! I know it’s because it can’t be monitored in the same way but would it be possible to make it a private group. Like you make a topic to chat about, someone provides access & it would avoid conflict as the topic is what would draw the crowd in? I don’t know.

Not a chance I’d say, sure look at the way things go on here most days, no way would they allocate the resources needed to moderate a chat option. The reality is that some posters could not be trusted to behave like adults

I can only imagine the chaos that was. Its bad enought at times when guys have time to actually think before they post.

Never going to happen it's gone years now. Maybe 5 years?!

I made a major go if it a couple of years ago to try & get them to bring it back with a huge response & did a poll too

But the mods wouldn't do it despite giving out a bit of hope if the response was there

I spent thousands of hours in the chat room believe or not!

Yeah, moderation can be a very hard thing when it comes to chats and private groups, and they are needed or else you suddenly find the servers of EI being raided by athorities for pedo groups, sex trafficers and drugs dealings. I can imagine it's not a risk they don't want to have, which is understandable. It's always the others who ruins it all for everyone else.
