Don't go opening that can of worms Tommy!!!
Cancellation fee is a grey area for sure, I've had to cancel in the past but feel I've always given adequate notice. I've actually had to cancel an appointment with you Michelle in the past but it would have been at least 24 hour notice.
If enough notice is given then no cancellation fee should apply but then if there isn't enough time given how much should fee be?
If it's someone you've never met before then they might just decide not to pay it and that they'll not try see you again, just move on to another escort and save themselves the fee.
If it's a regular and they cancel last minute then I'm sure they wouldn't have an issue paying a fee.
Simplest way seems to be a deposit system.......

ah here look, two things I'd swerve, cancellation fees and deposits, if we are all being honest there's very few regular clients who'd mess an escort about, if for some reason a guy had to cancel at the last minute then I'm sure he'd have a valid reason, if I got attitude over it then I'd be gone, never to return
it's not the money, it's the principle, what's a guy supposed to do? if he cant make it then he can't make it....shit happens

I think that your business Michelle depends on mutual trust and respect. I have tried very hard to foster a good reputation with the ladies I see. One of the things I do to keep this reputation is keep my appointment, but the moment I am unable to keep an appointment I let the person know. My motivation is that this presents an opportunity for the lady to take an other appointment.
The wildcard factor is that life happens. People get covid, where I live people get snowed in, children get sick and a host of valid reasons why both client and escort can't make an appointment. Most of your clients will have to make an excuse to their partners why they are going off grid for an hour. There are a lot of factors that can go wrong and mess up the plans of a client, much to their frustration.
This is where mutual respect and understanding kicks in. I have had one of my regulars call me to cancel in the past. As a client I understood that this was because of a valid reason. Escorts are very in tune and skilled in screening their clients. They will know if a client is genuine and have a good reason to cancel or if they are are a time waster.
My thoughts are that your business depends on the demand of your clients desire to meet you, it's not like going to the dentist who has people over a barrel and can change a cancellation fee. I totally understand that your time is money and that you are running a business, but your business and the service that you provide are very different to any other.
You know that I am a gentleman and one of your biggest fans and supporters, but I want to be honest with you. Irish people are all rebels at heart, we don't like rules or to be told what to do and we are very passionate. The Scottish in me and many other people in the North also makes us very stubborn. We are not like the German's or perhaps those in CZ who like order.
Too many rules and the introduction of a cancellation fee in my opinion would put put people off and be bad for the business that you have worked so hard to build. If you can remember the negative reaction some clients had to being asked to remove their shoes when entering your apartment it should be an indicator of the way the Irish think.
I consider myself to be one of your regular clients. I love the very professional way that you work because I am a professional and like to book ahead, plan and know that my time isn't going to be wasted. Out of a mutual feeling of respect I would never not keep an appointment without a good reason because I wouldn't want to damage our professional relationship, this in my opinion is worth more than a cancellation fee.
Block the time wasters and keep your regular customers happy is the way to go, but cancellation fees are a bad idea.

Hi Rooney I know you're a gentleman and trying to find the middle ground. The only issue I have is that to pay a deposit would involve using a card. Cards are traceable not only by your Mrs, but the police because they leave an electric trail that could be used as evidence against you. It also entails handling over your personal information that could be used for blackmail or fraud. I only use cash and always politely declined when asked to use card. Unless this business is made legal I can see no safe way to introduce a safe deposit system that protects clients.

Just to note. My barber charges next time your in if you dont cancel at least an hour prior.
Pretty sure the dentist charges a fee next time also if you dont cancel the day before.
Not that im compareing them to escorting, but its a common thing to be charged a fee if you dont give enough notice, and fair imo.
