Rookie mistake I made once by getting a taxi to a road in Ringsend
was dropping me off about 150 yards away from the (I guess a well known) apartment block…
no sooner had we pulled onto the road suddenly the taxi driver mentioned he was only back from Las Vegas…
(looks in the rearview mirror to make eye contact) and said out of the blue “ya wanna see the brazzers over there”
with a smug look on his face thinking he was embarrassing me… I said I know yeah it should be completely legal here too
with no taboo or a stigma attached to the subject, along with drugs!? Big dopey grin dropped off his face as he mumbled the taxi fair
Usually I’d Tip the driver anything up to a fiver but I waited for me €3:50 change From the cheeky prick.

when i first when to other countries like Poland i used taxi drivers for advice but they were cute hoors as always brought me to the dearest places as they were getting money from those places, now i dont need them thank god

After inDublin closed down, and before I became computer literate. I would hop in a taxi, usually on Baggot street, or around Conolly station, and just ask to be brought somewhere I'd get a ride. Sometimes they'd need to get on the radio, but most times they knew exactly where to go, even phoning ahead and checking if an appointment was available. I also learned to hand over how much I was willing to pay while asking, as some drivers could take you for a ride
