    Default Disqualified from driving

    Well lads,

Don't no why put just said I'd post here as I'm fed up big time....

So I'm a HGV Driver and I've been disqualified from driving for 6 months for reaching 12 points. I'll be back on the road in August! I'm currently working a shit boring job till then, I haven't told them I'll be leaving in August! My old company is taking me back in August when my license is back thank god.

Just wondering has anyone been disqualified before? How did you cope with it? I'm not one for stressing in any little way, but this is really taking its toll on my head! I'm cracking up! Can't sleep, can't eat, like I'm in a state of depression almost... ovbiously can't even drive to see any of the girls on here as I live in the countryside.

tough break but be thankful its only for 6 months, you'll get through it, those speed vans are just a money making device in rural areas.
have to say I'd chance driving locally, how are meant to survive from day to day?
it's a prison sentence as well as a ban for you

You hit the nail on the head saying its a prison sentence, it's horrible feeling. 2 1/2 months in and it feels like years. I'll admit I probably deserved 3 points once, caught going down the quays in Dublin with no seat belt on lol... I don't even no how I forgot it because I wear it like a religion. 6 were from a van, hiding in a ditch.

ah yeah its shit alright, I got 3 for doing 80 in a 60 zone and had a few close scraps after that, I'm on the road a lot so it would be a disaster for me.
I definitely would keep driving locally and hope for the best.

And if caught a much longer ban, it sucks and it terrifies me. I've 6, 109km on m50 in very light traffic and stupidly going thru a red, other lights had gone red but pedestrian light came on and I was already moving, not a pedestrian in sight

Yeah I don't think I'd chance driving local, especially as it was the local garda to give the last few points, and he knew what he was doing! I drive up the farm alright but its only about 500m away from home lol.

Its a pain, have the Mrs dropping me in ans out of work everyday, 15 mins each way

Ah no danger of being caught up here, there isn’t a even a Garda station where I am, might be different down the country though

Ah yeah, probably the wisest move, part of me would think “fuck em” but wouldn’t end well

Trust me, I've thought that too😂😂 it just isn't worth it, nearly there but seriously struggling lately it's very weird. All them years of driving for a living, freedom of the road and can go wherever you like I'm the car when home too, goes to show how valuable it is!
