If you can't than I'm sorry to say thay I'm afraid you're the prick, not the massive one, but certainly the sad one..............
I didn't say "most historic", I said "greatest moment".

Ireland joined the EU in 1973, that was something historic, it was not something something generally regarded as being that great to people.

The Nazi Holocaust was something historic, it wasn't a great moment for the Jews.

    There's a difference.... DURRRRRRRRR.

You told me that I was wrong so I asked you to name something better. Then you said "well if you can't think of a better one then you're stupid" when YOU CAN'T EVEN THINK OF ONE YOURSELF.

I didn't mean it to be taken so seriously, but I do mean it as being a serious thing I'll just add GENERALLY SPEAKING. For me and other people I know growing up, it was the greatest moment for us.

I don't really care if you don't agree with me on that. It's just an opinion.

    Wouldn't be historic..........

Well when you actually grow up you will realise that as greatest moments in the history of the Irish nation since we became a free state go, this is well down the list.............

I would seriously doubt that it was even the greatest sporting moment in Irish history since we became independent. After all the senior Irish soccer team has yet to win a trophy or a medal of any kind. There is a long list of Irish sportspeople who have tasted success at the very top level like
the Irish rugby team Padraig Harrington Stephen Roche Barry McGuigan Sonia O Sullivan Ruby Walsh
Ken Doherty Eamon Coghlan John Treacy etc etc.
Dont get me wrong Irelands 1990 World Cup run caused a great feelgood factor for the nation but to state it was the greatest moment in Irish history is way over the top.
    The Truth is out there.

Personally, I think it's well down the list, even for sporting moments............

    Just my opinion..............

Wow, I never realised that snooker and running and cycling were up there with football in terms of popularity and people have memories of them that are much bigger than the ones of Ireland in the world cup and they care about them more.

What kind of a spectator sport is "running" anyway? I can understand watching the track & field once every four years or so, but it's not comparable to soccer.

maybe not up there in popularity ................but these sports have been more successfull ie athletes becoming the best in their field.

If ure measuring success of the irish football team on the basis of qualifing for one major tournament quater final , you have a lot to learn.
