The Burke Debate!!

This country really is full of some great comic wit, I could spend all morning on Twitter in tears over the Burke posts!!!

However, what do you think?

My tuppence:'I'm non binary - refer to me as they/them - conform to this or I will be perpetually offended" is attention seeking bull.

HOWEVER,

extremist views, religious bigotry and non inclusive views have no place in modern society. I think Justice Birmingham was correct in his ruling that Burke failed to extend goodwill and flexibility to the child and his/her parents wishes and that his view should not take precedence over the childs request to be accepted as he/she is,

So what do you think? Enoch Burke: a wrongly persecuted revolutionary or an extremist religious bigot?

(Or C: every Judges/prison Governers worst nightmare )

I'm pretty tolerant of most people's views but there does come a time when you reach the "paradox of tolerance" and the Burkes and their ilk reached and breached this a long time ago.

I don't think it matters if you "believe" the child or not. It was a child who wanted a safe space to try and fund themselves and had a very simple request that any adult, especially a teacher, should be more than happy to do. But the Burke family decided to make it all about them, trying to make out they were the victims in all of this. The entire family are now known across the country as complete scum and hopefully anyone with legal ambitious are finished.

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing them dragged from court .

I read in the Irish independent that his sister is not a practising solicitor, shes barred from Castelbar District Court for being disruptive and they all staged a protest outside the Court

The mother home schooled them all, she raised a group of highly educated completely unemployable people!

Regardless of your religious beliefs or your opinions on this they/them pronoun fashion of late, this entire ordeal could have been handled very differently so as to not have escalated to where it is now IMO

The school have been put on the map for all the wrong reasons and the Burke family look like a total bunch of muppets. No one is a winner here.

Whatever about his, or her of them or whatever you want to refer to yourself as, the NGardai were very heavy handed in throwing one of his sisters to the ground like that outside the court. There s no need to do that either.

For anyone else who hasn't seen the post court footage of them getting escorted from the court steps yesterday, it can be found on the adrian and jeremy fb page....

Oh please!! It's on camera plain as day she fell backwards and then the Garda went to help her up! I'd say the poor Gaurds were mortified having to carry them all out of Court with every media camera and photographer on them! Exactly the show the Burkes wanted!
