There is already one site Escort Watch Ireland - About who is there, EI and others site should help this type of site with relevant information about safety and others issues regarding escorts industry but not creating another site.

As you can see NO PAYING SITE IS INVOLVED IN THIS TYPE OF ORGANISATION and should t be kept that way. Having a paying site just take for me the credibility of the causes. Is conflict of Interest having EI part of it?

Anyway this is my opinion, and my only mine there are more than 600 advertisers so less 1 won’t make any difference. Does he???

As not all escorts who advertise here make use of the forums, it might be an idea to pm each of them if this is practical, or place some sort of advert or notice on the Homepage.

These are all good ideas. I have looked at IUSW and you are right they are a professional union already established in UK. I think originally they allowed members from all over the world but now they are part of the GMB in the UK and it is strictly UK residents only. At the present time it doesn't seem like they can cater for the needs of Irish escorts at all.

I would love to set a union up that was as professional as the IUSW and maybe affiliate with them and become part of a big union here like SIPTU. However, from my initial enquiries, people have been saying to me, the first step is to get started, only much later down the road can you hope to achieve the professionalism of a union like IUSW, affiliate with unions in other countries or join something like SIPTU. I have taken this onboard, as it seems logical.

if it a case of EI cant be seen to be doing this as they make money from the escorts who advertise then one option is possibly to set up something similar and then get all girls on this website who already pay to be advertised on here to become a member - kind of automatic membership by virtue of advertising just the once and they HAVE TO OPT out if they dont want to be a member that way you could have a collective voice of escorts already established which is a huge amount of advertiser already on the website and a very big voice already

That way you have members already set up girls can donate to it if they want to but it could be a case of for example if you were to set up an irish version then say 1 euro from every advert on the site could go toward the up keep / fighting fund of such a website and fighting new law changes ect
just my thoughts on it and i have no idea if it would work or not

I think this is a good idea and something we should consider in the early days of the union if we set one up.

The short story of Escort Watch is that IIE threatened the ladies running it to shut it down and eventually the ladies running it quit, as they couldn't take living with the threats anymore. This isn't a big secret, it was in some papers at the time I think. I know all about this as the same people from IIE were threatening us at the time, but we ignored their threats as we always have. It is much easier for us to stand up to bullies than it is for the average escort, who is meeting new clients almost every day. We are not that vulnerable, bullies don't scare us.

Anyway, when the Escort Watch ladies quit, they basically "gave" Escort Watch to E-I and suggested we run it was the best option. I didn't want to run it, I wanted it to continue to be independent from us. So I found some independent ladies who wanted to continue it and gave them all the user access details. That's how it has been run since. E-I has paid the hosting, domain etc bills, but the site is updated by a couple of independent ladies who have no relation to E-I, we don't pay them or anything like that, we just leave them to get on with it, every post and bit of content on the site is down to them. So, it has remained independent, unless you count E-I paying it's costs as it not being independent, but I can tell you 100% that E-I has never excercised any control over the content of that site, we have only paid the bills to keep it up there for the ladies running it and the ladies using it.

We would be glad to help the Escort Watch ladies or any other independent ladies running anything for the benefit of escorts. We have always tried to do this.

I think you are 100% right sasha eve, in an ideal world, there would be a union or other organisation working for escorts in Ireland that was 100% independent of E-I. E-I would not be paying its bills or taking a leading role in it, it would be completely independent of E-I.

BUT, where are the independent ladies we can support to do this without becoming involved ourselves? I don't see that group. If I did, I'd step back. I see lots of ladies interested in doing something good to help improve their industry, I see many talented ladies with a lot to offer, but I don't see anyone who is going to organise this and get it all up and running. And, so long as that is the case, I think maybe I should.

Count me in aswell, you are doing a fantastic job already for the escorts on this site with the private escort forum and bad clients forum. At last someone who is taking an active roll, to improve the welfare of escorts.

Has this topic moved to the private escort forum? I am surprised that there is so little interest. My own personal view is that this is not a good idea. Nearly 99% of the escorts are not Irish and this country is not ready for a "bunch of foreign hoors" demanding their "rights". I think that we sometimes forget how backward this country still is in many ways.

Cant see it working, at least not in the conventional format as we understand unions here. Who would the union negocieate with and on what basis, looking for legitimacy from Government is a risky idea, you would have to confirm the tax status of members, and that means paying taxes, both income and vat, all to be added on to the customer.
On the plus side, a union could sort out the profiles/reviews etc. but then again someone would have to finance this!
