    I think it was Rishi Sunak, when chancellor of the exchequer in the UK, who advocated for a cashless society where as he claimed governments could encourage saving or spending with currency that would have a time limit.
    Spend your money by the end of the month or it vanishes.

    It's the start of them having complete control.
    And it's not far off.

    And perhaps your favourite hobby is also in jeopardy from this

    You must make an effort to keep cash circulating.

    we hate him over here, he just a corrupt rich toff who cut off from the ordinary people
    off course all governments and elites want cashless society as they can manipulate it for their own benefits
    It will be all crypto currency soon and when that happens we have no control, the governments etc have full control and once that develops a fault etc we wont be able to access our money so we are fuked really, no more punting until fixed
