the big status symbols for years were the big house and the flash car, these days the ultimate flex is freedom, of movement, financial freedom, freedom to not be chained to a desk all day, this cashless craic is just trying to erode those freedoms

Machines are taking our place fast and taking our jobs, I did tell you all about robotic police dogs that are very real, they don't eat, sleep, take toilet breaks and don't sit either when requested to do so and they got deadly accurately with a gun. They won't demand pay increases either or drop down tools

    Jeezus what next,

Jury's in Cork has signs up saying 'no cash on premises, card only' and it is getting to the stage where assistants are surprised if you're paying cash!

A friend of mine applying for a mortgage got a lecture from the broker going through her statements over on how much she was spending on Costa coffees! I'd hate to have someone going through my spending, "what are all these payments to Boots, love honey and what's this Lazerus trading?? ' lol

So what should the bank do. Hand you over hundred of thousands of Euros to buy a house and just hope you pay it back?.
They did that during the Celtic tiger, anyone remember how that went?

I think it was Rishi Sunak, when chancellor of the exchequer in the UK, who advocated for a cashless society where as he claimed governments could encourage saving or spending with currency that would have a time limit.
Spend your money by the end of the month or it vanishes.

It's the start of them having complete control.
    And it's not far off.

And perhaps your favourite hobby is also in jeopardy from this

You must make an effort to keep cash circulating.

This is there already and very effective. If you are unfortunate enough to need your prostate removed, and fortunate enough to be treated in a place that offers robot-assisted surgery, it gives you smaller scars, quicker recovery etc etc.
