Default Cash is king no more

Many places over here including restaurants are not accepting cash anymore, its still legal tender and this should not be, walked into a restaurant with few ladies on Saturday evening last in kownsley and had big sign up as you entered. I told the Manager that what kind of establishment are you running and ushered the ladies out.

Surely its not like this in Ireland

Was in London over the weekend and literally couldn’t spend cash, the airline was cash free, went to a game, the food stalls in the street were all tap, the souvenir stands were the same, inside the ground they’d take cash but would look at you like you’d two heads if you presented it, even the shops in the city centre struggle with it, hadn’t even change for a 50.
A real eye opener for me, not as bad here yet but it’s heading the same way

Its wild. I mostly use card these days myself, rarely carry cash unless i need it for something
But still, legal tender should be accepted, seems crazy that a simple sign can allow a shop to not accept cash. Whats the point.

I've done a little research into this as I visit London regularly and have a mighty pain in my hole with arguing about cash nearly everywhere I go.

They cannot refuse Bank of England cash as payment of a debt. (Scottish and NI notes can be legally refused in England)
Shops etc must accept legal tender, thats the law..
It gets a bit messy insofar as, the shop can refuse to accept cash, but you are under no obligation to settle your debt with other means, like cards or EFT,

Now what a lot after places are saying is that they are not in a position to offer change, which is OK too, (you could demand change, but you would probably have to make a written request, not happening.

So my tactic is to insist on paying cash, and where the bill is an amount I don't have in small change I tap my card out of spite..

    Let me explain..

Waiter ... 'the bill is £41.67'
Me... "OK, I'll tap £1.67 on this card"
Waiter then puts through the £1.67 on the card, which I then put back in my pocket .. then I say ...
"Sorry mate, all outta taps here, there's £40 cash for ya"
    WAITER... "we can't accept cash"
Me.. " you will have to give me that in writing also stating that you refused Bank of England notes as payment"

I sound like a pedantic cunt but I'm standing by my rights... the UK Post Office have an ongoing campaign going to protect and save cash in society.

To end the above scenario, I normally stand up and offer to give my name and address so they can send me an invoice, (I've never had anywhere take me up on this) they usually gaze at me like a total Gorm.

Look, on the surface it’s hard to deny that cashless is the better system, it’s quick and clean and rids us of pockets of metal and dirty bank notes caked in coke or god knows what but at the end of the day it’s about controlling us.
Once cash goes so does our freedom, everything you earn and everything you spend on will be out in the open, free for examination by god knows who, our spending patterns will there for big business to use and abuse, the taxman will know every cent of income, basically we’re fucked from that point on.
At the click of a button we could be made bankrupt for any reason, we are open to any number of threats.
We have to hang onto cash as a portable value store, or at least investigate other options, crypto, even gold, something we control and more importantly, we control alone

I believe businesses also have to pay a processing fee on card payments, this can make a big difference to small businesses.
I always try and carry some cash on me and if I'm in a small, independent business I try to use cash rather than card to make payments.

people are being led like sheep and being groomed into thinking its better without cash, its being done very gradually so people just accept it, its not good, once cash goes alot of people will suffer including lots of escorts who rely on cash, punters too but the real horror is being owned and monitored the the government, once cash is gone and accepted it will then be cryptic currency where you will actually own no money and the government owns you and can manipulate the whole situation for their own benefits.

From a business point of view I can see the logic, eg. in a pub where cash is being paid a light fingered employee could pilfer
away a bit of cash for themselves, I know of a guy who had a pub in Dublin and one of his employees robbed him of €30 K over a period
of time, personally I prefer to have a choice of how I pay.

I have too much wisdom to keep to myself,
so I share my wisdom with everyone.
Not my fault nobody listens to me.

was in Tesco yesterday and waiting in the queue and a wee staff girl come over and tried to usher me over to the self service machine, didnt go and like waiting and the till lady is so sexy and love chatting to sexy girls.
Machines are taking our place fast and taking our jobs, I did tell you all about robotic police dogs that are very real, they don't eat, sleep, take toilet breaks and don't sit either when requested to do so and they got deadly accurately with a gun. They won't demand pay increases either or drop down tools

    Jeezus what next,
