I however, don't trust the Chinese leadership. Things are turning into a shirt show. The issue is that the West put too much trust in rouge states. They made the same mistake in the 30s because they thought they were dealing with rational, political leaders. Chamberlain could not envisage the kind of people he was really dealing with, nor can our politicians comprehend who they are dealing with. They will pay for being fooled and never learned anything from the past.

Russian China, Iran and North Korea are rouge states Indian and Pakistan's moral compasses isn't far behind them. The reality is that there are no good and bad in war. We can all do things that we wouldn't have dreamed of when our humanity is put to the test and our base nature takes over.

But what does it matter, you or I will not fix the world sitting on our sofa typing on a escort website.
Yes I agree Russia, china, Iran, and north Korea are rogue states. But you missed the biggest rogue state. The United States of America.
They have been in more wars than any other nation since WW2.
The have started more wars than any other nation since WW2.
They have lied to start wars and invade nation.
They have occupied nation's they have invaded for decades.
They are happy to dictate to other nations.
They have openly admitted to bugging phones of there own allies leaders in Europe.
They are happy supply a dictator weapons to kill it's neighbour.
They are happy to supply weapons to a another rogue nation Israel who is using those weapons to aggressively land grab from its weaker neighbor.

The list goes on and on.
But somehow you missed them on your list of rogue states.

What terrorist state do I support?.

You'd back America. Their in lies the problem with the people of this world. Vast majority have chosen a side and don't care what crimes their side does.

If America began carpet bombed North Korea tomorrow and killed hundred and thousands of innocent civilians, you and others like you wouldn't care less.
No hint of genocide all you'll say is they are toppling a dictator and the civilians are acceptable loses.

You know I totally agree with you mate. Tony Blair and George Bush should have been brought to justice and tried for war crimes . Too many young men and women were brought back in flag draped coffins because of their lies. Indigenous people were also suffered and were killed in an operations ISAF could never win. Big armies are not made to fight long protracted acton's against terrorism.

Politicians start wars and ordinary people's sons and daughters fight them. I have no love for the US, but I have even less love for China or Russia.

Can I explain why, I don't hate ordinary Chinese, or Russian people they can't be blamed for their leaders actions, but often they pay and suffer in terms of sanctions against their country. Those at the top will always have but it is the little people at the bottom who feel the impact the most. It is also these little people who are handed a gun and made fight.

We have just come through a global pandemic. Models suggest that post an event like this certain things tend to happen. There is unrest among the population, we saw an increase in civil unrest post pandemic, even in China. People are going out on strike across the UK. There is usually economic instability, we can also see this playing out across the globe. At the moment our reliance on Russia oil is a big factor in the cost of living crisis. We also rely on cheapy made Chinese tech and products.

This is then usually followed by military action. Military action does two things, it can bolster unpopular governments, like in the case of the Thatcher administration and the Falklands. This took the nation's eye off what was happening at home and fixed it on the war. Secondly, states can use instability across the globe to strike before the likes of NATO can put up a creditable defence. The UK is no longer a tier one military power due to years of cuts, it doesn't even have enough ground to air missile batteries or RAF assets to defend itself against an offshore sub attack. The German Bundeswehr is in worse shape. It is using out of date equipment and it lacks manpower due to the scraping of National Service. I don't agree with National Service by the way, nor would I want my son to join the military.

The Ukrainian invasion by Russian was most likely a test to see what would happen, I believe this test backfired. These balloons could also be part of China's escalation towards conflict and they are trying to gather intelligence. The West are also getting into position for a global war, but are no where near ready to fight one. Last year, a tripartite agreement between Australia, the UK and the US was signed to use Australia as a forward operating base in the region; Australia is the nearest friendly asset to China. Taiwan could be China's test like Ukraine was for Russia. China, Russia and even Indian all have close relationship and need to be watched closely. There is also increased joint training in the West between US, UK and French troops. The US has adopted a new rifle, the Sig Spear. This weapons platform fires a more powerful round designed to punch through near-peer body armour and geared towards a war with China or Russia.

You are right about the US starting conflicts, they are very good at starting wars and very bad at finishing them. The last thing anyone who has anything to do with the military wants is war, because it's not like Hollywood; there are only losers. The sad reality is that if there is a global conflict NATO will be the one who is expected to step up to protect the West. The last time I looked we also live in a Western country and are part of the European Union. Irish neutrally with not protect her against the likes of Russia or China. We both agree that we don't like the US, but we will be one of her allies should war break out.

This is why I believe nations need to get tough with China and become less relevant on their tech and manufacturing exports. We need to buy more Irish/UK made products and even food. Investors should invest at home and in other countries other than China.

A Russian or Chinese missile won't care if we don't like the US if it is fired at us. But sadly there is nothing we can do about any of this and it will all take it's course.

Without going into details this used to be my bread and butter and I still do some gigs on the side.

You are right IDF this stuff isn't black and white. There are no good guys only those who are more wrong than right and have to be stopped for the greater good. All governments are motivated by money and a place at the world table. They don't care about the little people they have to throw under the bus to achieve this.

War is a very primal thing, men revert back to the dark ages, fear, anger, confusion and violence. The only thing that can stop this getting out of hand is training and discipline, but the classroom is nothing like the real thing. If you ever watched the movie Lone Survivor, it gives a Hollywood version of what it is like to be in a contact, but it's very good.

Real war is very grey and people do things they thought they could never do. Thankfully I sat at a desk for most of my career, but I have a healthy respect for troops who have been in contact, perhaps day after day for months. Humans can only take so much stress. It is very easy to make a moral judgement if you you were not there.

I got into a difference of opinion once with a superior, because I disagreed with him that there was such a thing as a just war. Sometimes wars are necessary, but they are never about the protecting justice. They are normally about: money, religion, ethnicity, oil, or power. 👍

You say you agree with me about the US yet you conveniently left them off your list of rogue states. You say Ireland and the UK need to get tough with China and not buy it's products. How come we don't need to get tough with US and and stop buying their products?.

Why would china or Russia fire a missile at Ireland?. We are not threat to them and they don't see us an an enemy.

You say Chinese balloons spying on America is a prelude to a possibility of them attacking the US. What is your opinion of all the US spy planes etc that fly over china? Looking for good picnic spots

Both have been spying on each other for years both will continue to spy on each other in years to come.

The US is doing is fair share of pushing China by telling China it has no right to Taiwan all the while forgetting the US, UK and Russia made Taiwan part of China after WW2 and all 3 countries officially recognise Taiwan as part of one china.
US will be the start of the next big war not China.
Of that you can mark my words.

We are British to the Chinese and a target.

The Russians running the biggest spy network for decades from the Russian embassy know the difference but don't care.

We have been fighting English wars since they first landed on our shores.

Firstly, on the part of Ireland regardless of Republican or Unionism NI currently is part of the UK and the soft underbelly to invade Britain.

Anyway, we can keep going at this all day, perhaps you're Chinese, or Russian and if you are I don't really care. But you are not going to change my mind and you are so fixed in your opinion, you won't change either. Like I said we are not going to change world events sitting on the sofa and so I'm not going to waste our time, so we will agree to disagree.

You know what thought, I really hope I'm wrong!

    All the best bro 👍
