Jessie was very brave to tell her story here, but I wouldn't like to see her made a poster girl for why escorts shouldn't work alone, unless she really wanted to be. I imagine she needs to get better herself right now, and that is going to take all her energy.

I on the other hand have some energy and some arguments to make, which are common sense arguments, not based on any one attack or incident that has taken place, but on the risks all escorts face every day and how we could make this industry safer for everyone

Photos are very powerful. Jessie posted her photos here to emphasise how badly she had been attacked. The good and the bad of the photos is that you could not recognise her from them.
There is a point that I would ask you to consider. You may not be the best person to fight the fight. It would be too easy for someone to turn the situation by concentrating on how much money you make out of all these "poor exploited girls". You may have the points to make but they may be better put by someone else. Is there anyone in the Dail that does not like Naughton and his agenda?

That is a very valid point. What's actually needed is something like a girls union or association. That is to say that the representation should be coming from the girls themselves and not from an other source such as EI.

I would totally and utterly agree that I am not the best person, but there doesnt seem to be anybody else. Maybe not the best person trying to do something is better than nobody?

You are the best person to see the full picture and to put the best case forward but you must find a mouthpiece, either a Dail member who does not like Naughtons views or a reporter looking for an already researched story or some such that cannot be seen to have a vested interest.

I did once think about trying to find a retired escort maybe and offer her a job working in this area, but you know if I'm paying for the campaign, isn't it same difference as me campaigning?

We know that you have the well-being of escorts at heart but it is way too easy for the enemy to paint a picture of exploitation which will deter anyone from picking up the ball. I have slagged you myself about how well things are going for you. You have to stay in the background.
Does anyone know which politician may be most sympathetic or which reporter may run with the story? I assume that Naughton is right-wing Fine gael, so I am sure that there is someone in Fine Fail or Labour who would like nothing better than to have a go at him. You just need to feed them the ammo. However you should keep your powder dry and let Naughton make his move.
