sure they can also dress up in a police uniform and say 'who are ye?'
no when it comes to lies and half truths i think escorts can take care of them selves
but Patricia is right it is strange but the law has to draw a line somewhere and i think the number of raids are not high so it would draw unnecessary attention
I think the government has probably got more on it's plate at the moment than to be concerned about the safety of escorts, and even if they did'nt face major economic problems, they still would'nt have the balls to do anything constructive. A petition would just draw unwanted attention and get the tabloid media, Ruhama, right wing catholic's et al to go on a counter offensive to demand a clamp down on prostitution.
As far as I know it is not legally safe for 2 girls to work together.
Most guards are not the enemy and have no wish to prosecute independent ladies for working in pairs, but I have heard of a few cases of independent ladies having legal problems due to this, and also escorts shouldn't have to rely on the cops looking the other way.
Regards it potentially being a bad thing to attract press attention, there are things said about this industry in the news nearly every day. Ruhama and Ruhama supporters are doing 95% of the talking. And I'm starting to wonder if it is wise for us not to fight back against the false information and one-sided reporting.

ah yes .you see Sweeite they would have to go away and get real jobs if they dont continue talking. They might as well be selling 99 cones out of their vans.It would have the same effect.By exagerating everything nobody takes them seriously and as a result they do or bring no good to the industry. They actually endanger escorts.
The gov and the likes of Ruhama will actually use the latest attack as an excuse as to why escorts shouldnt be working.
Ruhama
Westside.
Most people don't even know the actual act of prostitution is completely legal in Ireland, hell many escorts don't even know it. Maybe if there were some kind of genuine debating in the media about it a certain type of people would get all passionate and get up in arms about it. But the latest attack might prove just how important it is to have people around who can help you and possibly save your life. There should be a rule that two or three girls is okay surely.
It is crazy but I do not think that this is the right time to fight this particular battle. I think that we have to let this whole "tafficking" thing fizzle out first. Anyway, I do not think that it is necessary to change the law at this time. My understanding from escorts that I know is that the police have no interest in girls working together if there is no pimp, drugs or exploitation involved. There should be some way for these girls to organise to tour together for mutual support.
