Some excellent presenters IMHO such as Ivan Yates, Tom Dunne, Sean himself who I find most amusing, sorry folks, and I even listen to George Hook sans malice, and the sports show in the evening is always worth a listen, yer man Gilroy is a most excellent presenter.
And really chaps, I do note an element of over sensitiveness when ye hear EI being examined on the airways or in the press. Its a free country you know. Dont be so defensive, I think it betrays a certain element of guilt. Do you feel guilty .?
To be honest Off the ball is great, I preferred the Breakfast show when Ger Gilroy presented it, I think there is a Fine Gael bias between the main breakfast show and the Drivetime show. Not surprising given that the owner had a blueshirt in his pocket at one stage.
George Hook is trying the whole american shock jock technique he got from that right wing american he has on all the time and it doesn't work for him, I listened twice this week and he started the show the same way playing clips then giving his commentary and at least twice he misquoted or misunderstood what the person in the clip had said.
I don't like Tom Dunne something a bit flakey about him, The lunchtime guy can be OK sometimes and in fairness Moncrief is about the best of them outside of off the ball.
