It's a bit like going down to Xtra-Vision, spending ages trying to choose a DVD, bringing it home to watch and then returning it to the shop afterwards compared to clicking a few buttons on a remote and streaming a film today.

The way I work online ordering suits me much better these days.

As for online returns - I've had to return 2 items to Amazon in the past. It couldn't have been easier. They collected the items and I was refunded the same day.
    amazon is great
    different situations i suppose

as a person who lives in a gated apartment block,i've often had trouble coordinating with
    delivery drivers,especially for large items
and if i use my work address,i run the risk of the goombahs at the front desk mislaying it

Terrible shame. Huge amount of job loses!

I wonder will someone substitute the business? Doubt it.

I suppose it already has been replaced by Amazon/online shopping

I’ve never really taken to the online craic, never bought an item of clothing anywhere other than a shop anyway, it’s all about cutting staff out of the equation, online and self service tills, pay by card fuel pumps etc. If you needed something on the same day, an emergency, Xbox controller for one of the kids for example Argos was hard to beat

Apparently the branches in the north aren’t safe either, it’s run by the same crew that own Sainsburys, I’ve heard the plan is to move the Argos brand in house, a counter in the local supermarket where you can order and collect the next day

I agree an online platform is vital ,retail only shops can't really survive according to experts but i was reading retail footfall is picking up again. Back to pre covid levels.

Anytime i'm in shops in city centre , there always busy.
