This thread is about classic film intros and also encouraging people to watch movies they have not seen.

Yeah it was not faithful to his novel that's why he hated it originally. He has since said it's a great movie. He felt Jack Nicholson was too obviously shit house crazy to play Jack Torrance. Although he loves Jack. Kubrick went his own way, but it worked. Classic.

Gotta love Stephen King though.

In the novel Jack doesn't lose his shit or want to kill his family until he settles into the Overlook Hotel.
In the movie you can see Jack's contempt for his family from the opening credits.
That's what pissed King off enough for him to make a shitty version of The Shining all of his own in the 90's.

The 1st Marvel movie ever made, and it grossed them a huge amount back then in sales. And it featured a black superhero. One of the best movie intros, ever!
