I think there are three components in this newfangled nightmare of gender identity politics

which would be Imperative to recognize , separate , and address separately .

- sex : born male or female ( + minute number born w ambiguous genitalia = intersex ) . Can’t change it .

- gender : how a person identifies Deep Down - a personal identity :: not changing daily as wind blows

Those born male and identifying as male = Men .

Those born female and identifying as female = Women .

Those who live their life as the opposite sex , transition : Trans-men / Trans-women .


- sexual orientation : which sex a person is attracted to . Ie. Hetero , homosexual , or bisexual .

- sexual orientation : a person attracted to the gender representation of the other person ? Regardless

what may be between the legs ? Or

- sexual orientation : A person attracted to the genitalia of one or the other sex Regardless of the outward

gender presentation of that individual ?

Or , in many cases : men attracted to trans women Because they’re transsexual women - appear feminine

but still have the male bits : I think these be called the ‘chasers’ .

Or the good old boring - and Majority of humans even in this progressive Western world : Heterosexuals :

I think there will be so many different orientations that a single definition is hard unless it very general, such as "the sexual type or types of individual that a person is attracted to".

There are people who are attracted to more than one sex / gender etc. There are people attracted to woman and trans women, but only very feminine ones etc. I think there will be very many shades in between. I don't think you could create a list of "sexual orientations" where each person fits into just one category.

The last few problematic issues that you raise, I believe, are cases where a minority of people with extreme views are getting far too much traction due to their aggressive tactics, as LDM was saying (I think).

I have no problem with that definition but to be useful it needs near-universal acceptance. Would most young people today like this definition? I really don't know. I have adult children and one of them would say that is too simple to describe their friend group (no bunnies afaik).
