Go into your photos and look for the picture she sent you, check for a Whatsapp folder.

Just make sure the photo isn't in your albums

This is just one of lots of gotchas if you don't use a punting phone. In this case you know the chat is there so you can do something about it - sometimes stuff will be saved on your phone (or worse, in cloud services with your name on them) that you won't even realise is there, and it can pop up at the wrong time.

Tap the little cog wheel at the bottom left, select chats, toggle the “save to camera roll” to the off position, pics sent to your whatsap will no longer be saved to your photo folder on your phone
