Default If you could choose again...

    Serious question:

If you had to reapply for some studies, would you choose the same thing again? Do you work in what you studied? What would you recommend to someone who has to choose now what to study?

I studied something completely different from what I do now, although... Are there studies for this?
Actually in my free time I study something else. I studied for vocation a career that did not have many opportunities and now I think, should we study for vocation or thinking about the options of these studies?
It is never too late to study, of course, but it would have saved me a lot of time!

Left school when I was 16, was a bricklayer doing an apprenticeship, 2008 happened, no work. Spent years fucking about getting in trouble. Worked in bars, worked up to bar and restaurant management. Left that 7 years ago, changed career, now a director in a company. My biggest regret was not studying and going on to higher learning, but it has worked out for me.

I honestly regret not staying in school when I was younger, if I could go back I would have done it differently, it's too late for me to consider it now, I've people who depend on me.

But there is another side of studying that I've seen friends fall into, you finish one subject/course and start another and another and another and neglect your working career. End up a jack of all trades and master of none.

Study no use, left with degree and working for someone else and you make them money. You need to work for yourself, they don't teach you the proper subjects in school in order for you to achieve superior wealth. Them feckers want to keep you poor
I would loved to have bought loads of shares in The EI Conglomerate when it started and would not have to work now at all if I did, I would probably get a say too on how the Forums are run

I'll leave the studies to Michael and Leo and the rest of the suits...

I'll just continue working for the man every night and day...I did leave a good job in the city though .

Dropped out of college after 2 years

Self employed almost all my life

Wouldn't have it any other way, could never have had the same lifestyle working for someone.

2 adult kids, neither went to college, 1 owns his own successful business the other a big job with multi national.

Advice for kids, do a TRADE.

Finished my technical degree 30 years ago, because my dad want me to be technican, never work in industry, after that go to army, then come back start as baker, then bartender, dtp operator in advertisement.
When i come to Ireland i start cooking, go thru school and finally had job i like.
Make decision on young age what you want do its really hard and pointless. I think you can actually learn or study your whole life.
Dont be upset about things you can't change!!

Sometimes I regret not having better education as I left school at 16 to get an apprenticeship.
I have done okay as I was always going to be self employed , but a better education would have been nice , you can never know too much.

Like a lot of people I left school at 16, done the apprenticeship but then fucked off abroad and moved into the entertainment industry at a level where all you needed was the get up and go.
Jumped up through the ranks very rapid to a level that needed actual qualifications in what I was paid for so I went and got them.
Over 5 yrs I got all the paperwork I needed plus more and I'm still in the same industry.
At 16 you don't know what you want to do but if you find something you enjoy the rest is easy.
No two way's about it, I am the best looking punter in Ireland.

    I wish I had done a trade.
Degrees in Computer Science are bullshit.
