E-I has a very good security system here. It's very unlikely someone could breach it. Don't pay any heed to lolo. He doesn't know anyones ip address. For him to trace an IP back to an individual person he would need the police involved, so even if someone did discover your IP they would only know how you connect to the Internet eg vodafone, 02, eircom etc. Even if someone found out your ip it would tell them nothing about you.
Help Keyla in her fight with cancer. Every little helps.
It could happen to any of us.

    Do you really believe that??

You get someones ip you can find out who they are with having to call the gardai. It's just a large database your ISP keeps so depending on the ISP hundreds of people have access to it you just need to know someone in the ISP to get that info.

And presumably if somebody in the ISP gave out the personal info of the individual behind an ip address to anyone other than a member of the gardai on foot of a court order, that person would have broken the law (Data Protection Act at the very least) and be subject to the law and to being dismissed, and their employer, the ISP could be sued.

Happens everyday of the week see how many prosecutions or lawsuits there are. I never said it was legal just that it is done all the time.
