    Just as it was in the lead up to the 2017 law being passed.

    This site is the first point of call for groups such as Ruhama in arguments they present.
    The annual turnover of E-I, the ownership of E-I, the number of escorts available, the lists of favorites.
    It's all just low hanging fruit for the anti sex work activists.

    Instead of the fishnet stocking ed lady leaning in a car window they should show the E-I logo,
    because that's the limit to any research they do into sex work in Ireland.

    Any change will have to happen organically, perhaps with a more liberal Minister for Justice and Chief of Garda driving it.
    Personally I think it was unfortunate that Frances Fitzgerald was Minister for Justice and Noirin O Sullivan was Chief Garda Commissioner back then.
    Two women who probably saw enacting the Nordic model as making a name for themselves and their legacy.
    I testified in front of The Committee in the Dail Spring 2013 .

    ( one of only 2 active sex workers that were allowed to ) ;

    The level of the Committee’s Ignorance regarding our industry was astonishing !

    At one point one of them ( don’t remember , maybe Basik ? ) actually asked me

    how much €€ does EI get after each appointment that we have !!!

    They didn’t even know that we pay a flat advertising fee ! That EI is merely a Directory ,

    an advertising platform and nothing more !

    The astounding Ignorance ! That they didn’t bother to objectively look into it ,

    to do the most elementary ‘research’ ! The die was already cast .

    But today is a New Day , a New Dawn , and I’m Feeling Good … about our chances

    of maybe turning the tide : but it needs to be grassroots , not sponsored by EI ;

    It needs be individual clients reaching out and writing to their own representatives .
    I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

    Can't see anybody marching to the Dail on this, the nature of the issue is underground activity and privacy. Some academics are leading the charge, Vicky Conway was great, sadly she died suddenly last month. It makes perfect sense to decriminalise, people engaged in this are normal people, not criminals. Minister McEntee is progressive and she might be one to listen. Representatives of Sex Workers could look to meet her, there is nothing to lose. Expecting punters to lobby politicians just wont happen.

    Hello Stephanie. I'm already making a list of representatives to send my letter to and I hope more people will join me. We need to change the narrative and conditions to make it safer for everyone in the industry. Come on guys, get pestering those who make the decisions 😀

    McEntee ....

    You are having a laugh mate. She wanted this site shut down and all other sites like this, but they weren't able because of other factors. I laughed when I read that. Another of Fine Gael's finest. You're actually getting others excited. McEntee thinks all us punters are low lifes. Give me a fucking break man!

    Unfortunately I think you're right Rockerman. A lot of people are touting her as being progressive and as having got through implementing a lot of change. However, on this issue, she hasn't got the balls to be progressive enough and move this country forward. Repealing the legislation would be the proper thing to do and protect those working in the industry. Instead like you said, she wants to shut down the website and therefore drive everything underground.

    What do we have to do before they see common sense and get us out of the dark ages ?

    No one is ever going to listen to clients about sex work laws

    the only ones who have even a slim chance of achieving change
    are sex workers and their associations
