Personally I dont think I should have had to. It obviously wasnt a pop about anyone having cancer, but to keep the peace and to anyone thsat I truly offended I did.

Obviously if it was said with malicious intent and was actually directed at somebody who actualy had this disease I would have expected to be punished or at least hasd an infraction, but I do think that the vast majority of people got the joke, maynot have found it funny but still understood it was a joke and not as deliberately intending to verbally assault anyone.

well id rather not be seen take sides here but i do think the apology was necessary and set a good example as a moderator. It shows that our peers can even write something in haste or anger, admit it and then move on.

Listen Im no mod fanboy I have seen numerous times when I think they should have apologised, I just don't think this was one of them.
