Well my father died in the not too distant past from a very similar cancer to what u are joking
about and let me tell u the last month at his bedside was far from a joke
There are boundaries of taste and personally i feel they have been crossed here. To be honest when i read this it brought back memories, and not very pleasant ones. Just sometimes think of other people and show a bit of respect

It would be like me saying im starving and the Concern accusing me of being offensive to third world countries.

Otherwise you will end up not being able to say anything as you say someone will get offended about this that or the other.
Ok it wasn't particularly funny but unless nbt had cancer and you were aware of it I don't think it is offensive to make jokes about cancer or aids or whatever. Whether they are funny or not is a completely different subject and that is a personal thing.
