I’d say a big reason was lack of safe reasonable priced accommodation - especially in the smaller towns.

Ireland has never been the easiest place to find good hotels/apartments in with nosey people and key cards being commonplace. But as someone that first toured here 13 years ago I can say it’s worse than ever.

I just paid over €300 for one night at an airport hotel I paid €70 euro for back in the day. The costs of touring have increased dramatically (here is looking at advert costs as well as travel etc) and the average cost of companionship has just lowered over the years.

Then throw in the uncertainty re Covid travel and the increasingly bad quality of people contacting escorts i.e time wasters and dangerous ones. The reality is Ireland is no longer an easy place to visit and tour successfully for many.

My advice would be to treat the escorts that do still work or tour here well. The cost of living is up for all but tip where you can (even €20 euro is lovely), book in advance and be nice!

This is my 2nd visit in around 4 years and I know personally I will be unlikely to tour here again. Even with the benefits of my lovely regulars it’s just no longer beneficial financially or from a sanity point of view!

Couldn’t have said it better. Unfortunately most don’t see it like that. They see the price for 30/45/60 min and they just think ‘wow she must make a shit load of money’. No, we don’t. If you live and tour in Ireland you have two rents to cover yours and the one on tour. That’s a lot from the start…not to mention the other added costs. And then you get the abuse, the timewasters, the entitled. This already being a lonely job as it is. Combine the loneliness of the job with a couple of days of mental abuse…plus if you have a bad week rents piling up bills piling up…you get nowhere. Sometimes it is very hard to feel from the phone who will actually be genuine and respect their appointment. But the only thing is to be nice with who you meet in person and try to be as positive as you can xx

Precisely. The real winners here are advert companies lol!

For many people that would mean 10 x 30 min clients over 2.5 days (factoring in hotel check in times) to even break even ignoring their costs at home! It’s wild. The costs of working in Ireland are on par with London, New York and Sydney but the rates here are well below average in those cities. Never mind the fact that booking deposits are still so rare here meaning so many bookings will no show. The sheer energy/unpaid hours that go into answering the calls and texts - it’s a miracle escorts are happy and bubbly when clients do show up.

For those reading thinking this is a moan - it’s not. I appreciate that many of these issues effect people in every sector and globally. It’s simply laying out the harsh reality for better understanding of why numbers are steadily declining and will continue to in my opinion.

Many will go to different routes - be that different countries, switching to online only with lower outgoings or even leaving the industry all together. Ireland is by no means unique in it’s costs but when you factor in the Ireland specific issues it’s not a surprise numbers are lower.

Speaking of bump options

There are two escorts who work individually and as a duo who between them today have 16 of those premium top adverts, and 5 of those are double top adverts. It must be like that every day for almost 2 months, or ever since they started. It seems crazy to me with all the talk of expenses, rent and advertising.
