Gardaí arrest two in Donegal over alleged prostitution and human trafficking offences

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED two people in relation to human trafficking and organised prostitution offences in Donegal.
Officers from the Human Trafficking Investigation and Coordination Unit (HTICU) at the Garda National Protective Services Bureau (GNPSB) carried out an operation in Letterkenny on Monday in relation to an ongoing investigation into organised crime, human trafficking, organised prostitution, and money laundering.
Gardaí said they arrested a man in his 40s under organised crime legislation. He appeared before Falcarragh District Court (sitting in Letterkenny) this morning, charged with an offence under the Illegal Immigrants (Trafficking) Act 2000.
Officers said they arrested another person this morning in relation to the investigation.
A spokesman said: “The Garda National Protective Services Bureau is committed to supporting victims of all crime and is calling on anyone who has been the victim of Human Trafficking to contact the Garda National Protective Services Bureau, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station, where they will be treated with the utmost sensitivity.”

I fully support these arrests, but this is a bit concerning for those who visit Letterkenny to see independent women who are working as escorts. I wonder where the arrests took place?

Very vague article. I will not be in a hurry to think about worse (the guy being a trafficker forcing the poor innocent girls to sell their bodies for his benefit) for the simple reason as I know in past was a couple man nd woman who rented out apartments and sublet to escorts and they were convicted the same for ''human trafficking, organised prostitution etc even they didn't forced anybody just rented the places to escorts and being 2 escorts in a place of course was a brothel classified and he was accused of ''running a brothel or managing a brothel something along this lines, organised prostitution etc so sometimes this convictions not reflect exactly what can be in your mind when u read them. Anyway , if was someone forced in to this job then I applaud the action of Garda , nobody should be do this job or any job against their will.

In the case Gardai finds out John rented us the apartment - he is organising prostitution.
