For anybody that seriously wants to understand the 'woke' and 'cancel culture' phenomenons I would suggest reading Mark Fisher's short essay 'Exiting The Vampire Castle'.
It was written in 2013, 4 years before his suicide, and it's frightening how accurately he identified the neoliberal holier-than-thou scourge.
