I have to agree, the Sunday Indo has gone massively downhill.

The article is poorly-written, badly structured and crammed with the writer's moralising.

The two worst parts were the interview with the wife and the nonsense about sex-addiction.

The wife would have been in a similar situation had her husband been sleeping with his secretary. Indeed, it would have been worse because of the mutual attraction/intimacy of the affair!

Her problem is infidelity, not escorts.

The drivel about sex-addiction is equally nonsensical. The vast majority of punters are not sex-addicts, and no evidence was presented to the contrary.

For a piece of "journalism" the article was short on facts and bulging with scorn and opinions.

The pity is that a very good piece could have been written about the nature of online communities, virtual relationships and the needs they serve. She could also have actually looked at the lifestyle of some of the touring girls, and written about what it is like to travel around the world doing such a "below the radar" job, etc.

There is so much material here for a thoughtful investigative writer to look at it is a shame that she dove straight to the bottom-rung and wrote such a thoughtless, uninspired article.

And sometimes u don't get sex. So if a wife can't satisfy her husband, she cannot complain that he's goin off with escorts.

I loved how the journalist asked, if prostitution is illegal, how come E-I can exist? Here's a good question, how come if you're Judge Brian Curtin, u have child porn on your PC, but because of a technicaliy, it's thrown out.

How come, if you're Roseanna davison's ex, Wesley Quirke, u can do 190 km down a road, get off because the summons was wrong, and coincidentally it helps to have a father who is an ex cop/detective.

good points espensen what it shows is that this article was badly researched or she would
know why E-I can operate or maybe she didnt want to, its obvious she wrote this article
by just what she learnt from joining E-I, remember she is writing for a glossy supplement
dont think she is a cutting edge journalist just little bits of human intrest stories things
that wont over tax her SoCoDu little blonde brain, havent seen anything too stimulating
    from yet

We live and learn Ber, was fully aware the tone her article would take but I must have been in an exceptional good mood the day I decided to respond to her post. Didn't really say anything of interest so I thought but at least I'm now immortalised in the press LOL

Ahhhhhh articles on escorting in Irish papers are alway the same rehashed crap we've heared dozens of times before. It would have been intresting, given the recent calls to legalise prostitution here, for the journo to tackle the positives surrounding legislation. But no, just scare mongering about sex addiction, broken marriages etc etc

Though one thing in the article popped out at me. One guy said he does stuff with escorts that he wouldnt do with with his girlfriend. Another suggested that he wouldnt expect more 'devient' sexual activities from a 'nice girl'(On an aside, escorts ARE nice girls ) Perhaps its poor journalism and this is not what the punters meant to say but this struk me as quite sad. For me sex is an important part of my relationships,If I could not be honest about who I was and what I wanted in the bedroom with my partner then I would be out of that relationship faster than punters fleeing the backdoor in a brothel raid! Sharing sexual fanatsies and acts with a partner is massively important I think to building a really fufilling, intimate relationship.

Ok Il take my agony aunt hat off now, sorry!

I have no problem with her attitude towards escorting its just that its like it was written for a catholic magazine like 'Awake' that surprises me.

When you consider that escorting is legal in nations like holland/germany/switz/austria and new zealand one wonders what their take would be on something like this in their press ?

would it be written in a similar fashion ?

i dont like the way she describes my bizarre gay/lesbian arguement. Disagree by all means but when arguing a point you -in a proper debate- attempt to show a contrasting postion or attempt to show the opposing arguement as false.(Jeez lads that Galileo position on astronomy is bizarre!)

Having said that I suppose that I am biased.

Maybe her boss wanted her to write a poor article eh? Maybe he's on our side.
Well if she hates this business and condemns it then she has actually promoted it ten fold!!!

I had to laugh when I read the comment about anal sex and guys not getting it from their wives.

    Didn't Jesus support anal sex?

    Angry

This is starting to come back and bite me in the ass, an escort has just refused to exchange information with me because; get this; I'm married I have to say I was shocked by this and that doesn't often happen to me. Can any other ladies confirm that if they think a client may be married they will go ahead with an appointment but if she knows he is married she won't as is the case with the escort concerned. Now sorry people I won't be saying which escort it was as this is her right and I must respect that and I hold no I'll will towards her!!
