You're a worrier hun!! That much effort would only be put into a serious investigation, not visiting an escort!

I've been following cases in relation to this since the legislation was brought in, theres been around 90 successful prosecutions so far, in every case what happened is the client was approached on leaving a known apartment and fully co operated, admitting that he had paid for services.

My advice would be should this ever happen deny everything, say it was a hook up you arranged on Tinder or fab swingers, the only way it can be proved in Court that cash was exchanged for sexual services is when the client admits it (and remember we charge for TIME not services). The gaurds will probably say "that lady is an escort, we know what you were doing" but just play dumb say you were chatting on tinder and just stick to that story. Deny deny deny, you know nothing about sex workers or escorts.

A garda needs legal "power" or authority for actions, so a garda has a power to stop and question any member of the public at any time, they have a power to search you if they believe you are carrying something illegal e.g. drugs or a weapon, they dont have a "power" or authority to go through your phone only in the most serious of cases (murder, child abduction,terrorism etc) so you if you dont want to unlock your phone you cant be obliged to do so.

Be honest about your name address etc, cooperate in every other way, just play dumb about any knowledge of a sex worker and politely decline if ur asked to unlock ur phone. Unless your being a pr*ck, odds are the garda will let you off with a caution and u live to punt another day!

Yes he is worried about nothing, but my advice is different, don't tell lies to the Gardaí, admit to nothing, and tell them nothing more than your real name and address

Think you are totally overthinking! However, there is no law against visiting an escort. If stopped you could say yes of course you visited, you know the girl, it's nobody's business how or why you know her and what you did or did not do. I would give my name, adress & contact number. Anything else I would exercise my right not to comment. To prove a crime the Guards either you to get you to admit paying for sex or get the escort to admit. This is my take on it anyway. Would love to hear other peoples views or advice, especially anybody who was actually stopped.

The chances are approximately zero. It is difficult for them to make a solid case, and almost impossible if you don't help them by answering lots of questions. As others have said, just say you were going about your private business and prefer to keep it to yourself.

You are very unlikely ever to be challenged at all, never mind a week later. It would make absolutely no sense when they could have challenged you on the day.

In Ireland I always did a survey of the place and good thick hedgerows outside in case i had to jump for it from the 2nd or 3rd floor winda, always checked on arriving i could squeeze out the windas if the filth did come knocking,
I nearly jumped from the 2nd floor naked as was in the room in Galway once when loud battering thumps started on her door, scared the bejeppers outta me but luckily it was only her half deaf friend at the door on the door to say time was up she of course was bursting her sides laughing, always have a back up plan
