Lets see,
The Garda are neck deep in the ACA.
Sure the Provo's was a counter to the red IRA.
Among other things.
We have our reds.
We put up with them because of democracy.
And socialism works.
But don't underestimate the opposition to them.

Now I know how Damien felt when Sergeant Neff instructed him to discover himself:
"Sergeant Neff: The day will come when everyone will know who you are, but that day is not yet here.
Damien Thorn: What do you mean?
Sergeant Neff: There are things you don't understand. Read your Bible. In the New Testament, there is a Book of Revelation. For you, it is just that - a book of revelation. For you. About you. Read it. 13th chapter. Read. Learn. Understand..."

Churchill twice wanted Britain to invade Ireland during WW2. First time was in 1939 when he was first lord admiral of the British fleet. He wasn't happy that Ireland wouldn't let Britains navy use our ports for hunting U boats and when the RMS Royal Oak was sunk by a u boat off scarpa flow, Churchhill was furious and went to the then British PM Neville Chamberlain with plans to take Irish ports by force. Chamberlain refused his request. 2nd time was when he was PM himself he had plans drawn up to send division of Scottish troops to occupy Ireland The President of the US stopped him sending them. It should also be noted that both Britain and Ireland governments together drew up plans for an allied invasion to retake Ireland should Germany decide to invaded and occupy us. Plan w it was called I think
