Since I joined this forum my eyes have really been opened by men attitude to women.

Is there any escort that hasn't suffered abuse either mentally or physically at the hand of clients. Putting people in jail for crimes against women won't solve the issue. At that stage it's already too late. How do you change attitude ?. I'm 5 years in this industry and it is my experience that these type of men and what goes on here on the boards are a very small minority. I have wonderful clients, ordinary decent gentlemen, I dont agree with man bashing at all theres good and bad everywhere. Poor Aishling has the terrible misfortune to encounter a subhuman.

This is what's lost in the conversation on the other thread. Laws too lax, punishment not severe enough, shouldn't see the light of day again etc.

It is a very over simplified response. If the only reason people don't commit crimes is because of the likelihood of getting caught or the severity of the punishment, we would be in a very bad way altogether.

The thing that stops me from murdering people in broad daylight is that I can tell right from wrong and have some sense is a moral compass.

To suggest that the only reason we aren't all killing each other in the streets is because the law tells us not to is facile.

Tuam babies, cevical cancer, mother and baby homes, all mixed in with a go at entitled behaviour of some clients. It is no way to express grief at the tragedy of the murder of Ashling. And there is already a thread to do that.
There are some good clients and some bad clients, there are some good escorts and some bad escorts. And that is all a separate issue from yesterday's awful events imo.

We all suffer abuse. Men and women alike. But I do appreciate you drawing attention to abuse against women, as we are seen as the weaker sex.
This job as I always say comes with a fine print and I’m glad to see that some responsible men see the fine print as well and don’t just visualize us just through the idea that we have it good for ourselves financially speaking. The truth is on the opposite spectrum, unfortunately for some. And I will break it down in all aspects. Socially and financially.

Financially(because it was a common interest to so many lately)
Yes there are days or even weeks when we have it better than others with a normal 9:00-17:00 job, and don’t get me wrong I am grateful, but escorting isn’t a fixed income. You will never be guaranteed that you will make that x amount of money every day. Some days can be on zero and some days you will have made the same amount of money as a regular person with a regular job(because let’s face it escorting to this day is still seen as tabu)
Now no normal escort will take someone who is verbally abusive over the phone. Cause a lot won’t understand that and still don’t. We don’t take just anyone who calls us. Out of let’s say 20 calls a day, after filtering all potential customers for your own safety, you end up having 7 of them who potentially seem genuine. Out of those ones 3 are timewasters and the remaining 4 are genuine appointments. That’s it, that’s the day done. But those are good days. But you do put yourself before through the entire filtering process for all 20 calls.
The costs we endure as sex workers are double if not triple than the average 9:00-17:00 job, starting from accommodation, advertising transport, consumables, costumes, lingerie etc. I doubt any man willing to visit an escort will be happy with her presenting herself in ripped lingerie etc. but all in all I am grateful to each and everyone visiting me.

Socially

We are seen as worse than the runt of the society due to the nature of our job. If you remember those signs at bar entrances in the UK where they said ‘no dogs, no black, no Irish’(sorry for opening this historical wound). Try picturing that in normal modern society. Due to misinformation we are a lot worse seen than that. We are told we asked for it if we get any abuse from anyone(mental or physical). No, no discerning human being asked voluntarily to be abused.

As a sex worker I will admit hand on heart that 90 percent of the people who actually visited me in person, were genuine amazing people, from who I had a lot to learn, to all those people thank you.you know who you are you are very much appreciated and treasured.

Now the 10 percent I reserve for abusers, timewasters, hagglers etc. yes I have suffered from abuse as an escort, yes there were days where this abuse lead to depression(I took medication for that because I was at some stage at the point of ending it alltogether) the fact that I have been told I asked for it, and still nothing was done about it, lead me to want to hurt myself. That’s why I am so catty and bitchy on here and I don’t tolerate abuse from anyone. But if I can talk about it now, that means I came out stronger than I was when it happened and I manage to see the beauty and the light in all the trauma. But how many have been unfortunate and who will never be able to overcome it anymore? And how many have never overcome the traumas they endured as sex workers.

As I mentioned in a previous thread I’m not here to be liked or approved by everyone. And I dont want that We are all individuals, and working with people is the hardest job to do. As much as you want to please everyone you cannot and will not. I do hope that more and more escorts will contribute to this as it is important to outline not only the positives but the negatives as well.

It is a grueling task on both sides, on your side as clients when you make a choice(cause it can turn into a poor one) and for us as escorts as well.
