Sorting a laptop for someone
Hp one
Someone tryed to set up a new mircosoft account
But I'm stuck at log in they keep asking for a pin that nobody knows
When I try reset it says Microsoft account does not exist
When I try create a password using that email says already taken
And says cannot reset pin at this time also frustrating
I cannot swap users and now just stuck on a log in page
Cant even factory reset it

Any help ideas

If you have access to the email you can try choose the email and password instead of the pin for windows login but if you cannot access either then a factory reset would be required.
A factory reset is done before the windows operating system starts so the windows password should not stop you from doing the reset.

Depending on the make/model then a reset for HP should be just pressing f11 if the button is not working it might need the fn+f11(as the button might have two options) or you can try plug in a usb keyboard to make it easy.

If it's like my own HP laptop, you should be able to choose a different login option.
Does it say "Sign-in Options" underneath the box to enter the pin?
