But that doesn't really align with sudden onset anaphylaxis after only one or two exposures to a food. Peanuts for example, are hardly lab modified, nor are shellfish.

Not that I disagree in general, it's just I don't think this food standards issue is related directly to food allergies.

I completely empathise with ppl who are nut and shellfish intolerant, but I’m no clinician or biologist so no idea as to why it happens. Family member is and they have to be v careful.

But It seems as years roll by more and more “allergies” are front and centre in mainstream diets. Bread and milk etc. There has to be something to do with the ingredients. I myself developed a reaction to a foodstuff recently, not dangerous but never had it before, so what’s changed I’ve no idea.

Just don't conflate an allergy with an intolerance. Or a fashionable tend.
