I find the it strange every person walking down the street saying hello to me.
I'm from another continent and on my first week in Ireland I thought I was going mad or something. Living in a small town and was like "how do they all know me". Odder because I don't even look local
I remember going to the states a few years back and excluding the fake overly friendly staff in clothes shops. No one would say anything to anyone unless in was abusive.
Saying " howya" or "hows it going" to strangers is not the done thing. Having a chat to the person next you on the subway isn't done either. Them lads would rather sit there and pretend to be listening to music or reading the newspaper..... lunatics
I on the other hand would just strike up conversion with almost anyone. I met the woman that voices bart Simpson on train from Boston to New York once and had a great chat. Nobody would of known it was her if they kept their mouth shut. Really nice woman.

We are a friendly lot in Ireland.
Out of all the places in the world I've I have been in I found Romanian people very like the Irish.
Strangers in Ireland seem to be able to talk to each other. I'm interested to find out if people from other countries on EI found Ireland a welcome place to live in or visit?

I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.
