Covid is an extremely complicated issue, the likes of which have never been seen before on this island. Foot & Mouth disease was the closest thing we've had to a pandemic of similar magnitude. Regardless of which decision the government make about lifting restrictions etc, people will still die from this. People will still become infected. The Irish people will still cherry pick stats and compare what other countries are doing and slate the government for what hasn't gone right, that's the nature of the beast.

To answer your question bluntly, no, I don't think they know what they're doing, but how could they? It's impossible to tell what the future holds when this virus is involved.

I notice flu is coming back into fashion having disappeared for 18 months how convenient for the authorities. This has little, never really had, to do about Sars Cov2, it is all about control through fear and propaganda.

I think covid will be here forever. We will have to learn to live with it. I don't think the UK Gov. gave a shit about it's people and was only concerned with money. I heard an expert say at the start of the pandemic that "people should be afraid of covid, but if you lived in the UK, you should be very afraid". The whole herd thing was a joke. I was talking to an ICU nurse that I know, she told me that there are more now in ICU than at the hight of the pandemic. The vaccine will perhaps stop covid from killing you, but it will not stop you catching it.

I do agree that similar to the many strains of colds and flu's Covid will be here forever. Its just a case of how we learn to live with it, similarly to any common cold that might hit us

Of course the flu disappeared for 18 months. The guidelines implemented to stop the spread of covid work for the common colds/flu's. The Covid vaccines do not prevent the common flu. Now that people are mingling again, socialising, the common flu that comes every winter will spread. How is it convenient for the authorities? And what do the authorities stand to gain from control through fear and propaganda?
