Hi dear, that depends on each one. Some were always meant to be a trans, that's totally inside them already.
I can say for myself. I love the both sides, the double life. Some in here only dress up for working. I don't, you can maybe see me out someday (dressed as a girl), but I don't have the intention of transitioning. Some trans I met take a long time to really find out that they really want to be a girl on a fully or nearly fully way and some can actually do it and regret at the end because they were not meant to be, they transitioned because of external facts and not for themselves.
Anyway, is a very complicated point that we could spend the life talking about it.
