As for you "biggest murdering two faced bastards" comment, I guess you mean Sinn Fein, well maybe you should get out and get involved in local politics to stop that happening, I do not think they will get into power in the next 10 years, and hopefully never will.
I hope you are right. But I fear for the future. I am involved in politics. And PIRA/Sinn Féin are great on the ground. They do good work on a local level. But so did Hitler.

Seems we all have our political demons to contend with on this Island of ours it seems.

I still remember Dara O’ Briain describing them as the party that locks the playground swings up on Sunday. Funny description but also kinda accurate.

Why even after being trained and given modern weapons for 20 years by the mighty American army - the Afghan army proved out to be absolutely no match against Taliban ? Are the Taliban such a fierce force that nobody can do something substantial against them ? Also who funded and kept the Taliban war ready for the past 20 years ?
    Hi x

    1. Here’s a docu about the US army training the ‘300,000’ Afghan “army” — year 2012

Like the CIA American funding of the Contras?

Hi Stephanie, I'm sure you mean well. I mean you have done a good job sticking up for your country. You have more guts then I gave you created for. Respect, seriously. But the Afghan people are tribal people and never would be loyal to a centralised government. And the way things have worked out it is looking like they were very wise.

    >>>

Afghan National Army in 2013 , when US forces were being drawn down .

Fighting on their own for the first time : no more US / UK soldiers in situ .

    >>> https://youtu.be/Tlja_ZhNXdw

: How did they lose their country to the Taliban !?

In meantime there are news reports coming in that some of the Afghan

Forces indeed did fight , but they were exhausted , without re-supply ,

and just lost the countryside against the fresh Taliban forces , coming

onto the yearly Fighting Season .

It would seem the countryside more or less has been insidiously lost

over the past years already .

: Apparently years ago a deal was made between US and Taliban , that

no US forces would be harmed - that’s how the total US forces could be

drawn down to about 15,000 ( ? ) under Obama , then to some 5,000-6,000

last year ( year before ? ) , and the TFG drew that number even further down

to just near 2,000 US GI’s on the ground — right before Biden’s Inauguration ..

: serve up a sh*t sandwich to the next guy .

It would seem that since that deal had been struck and the Taliban was

no longer killing Coalition forces , the Afghan forces kept fighting and

kept getting bombed and killed and they did fight . But no back up ,

no re supplies , and surely not 300,000 ...

: A brief encouraging moment a couple of days ago : local men took up

arms against the Taliban Occupation in some of the provincial towns —

    — on the Afghani Independence Day* : they defiantly trashed the T white flag

and raised the National Afghani flag in its place .. there’s fight in them yet ,

but I wonder how well armed they might be : facing down all the shiny

American weaponry that the Taliban had seized .. and I wonder how much longer

we might be getting any news out of the countryside , and I wonder how the

locals will be able to stand up against medieval barbaric brutality , how can they ,

    how will they fight ?

Northern Alliance seems to be re-forming under the leadership of Massoud’s son

( Massoud the elder led that coalition until he was assassinated some good years back ) ,

: they have a rightful fighting history ..

*Afghan Independence Day — they celebrate their Independence from Britain .
