Default Ivana Bacik Set to Become a TD

Ivana Bacik, one of those in the vanguard in bringing the recent anti sex work law is now odds on to win The Dublin Bay South By-Election.

Even though, I'm no FG Supporter and their candidate, James Geoghegan, was exceptionally weak, I would have voted for him rather than her!

In fact it was seen as such a foregone conclusion that The Blueshirts would win this seat vacated by Eoghain Murphy (a declared opponent of criminalise the punter legislation!) that it was suggested in one political forum that it resembled The 1935 Eastbourne By-Elction, where Charles Taylor, a Tory, was returned unopposed and he went on to hold that seat for 40 years, to be shafted by Ian Gow, who was subsequently sent to his eternal reward by The Militant Irish Republican Movement!

So I guess a big well done to The Blueshirts!
    Ride them on the beaches!

Not good for escorts for sure. She was on prime time or some show once giving out hell.

Also a living embodiment of Politics being showbiz for ulgy people.
Seriously she is very leftwing woke. Actually massively intolerant but doesn't realise it. But great news that the Shinners haven't gained a seat.

This is a massive own goal for Leo his ego is catching up with him ,he has never gotten over Kate O Connell endorsing Coveney for the leadership and has blackballed her,if she was the Fine Gael candidate she would have won pulling up. The sign of a good manager is put your strongest team on the field of play. I'm afraid his arrogance will be his undoing as his efforts as Tanaiste to undermine the Taoiseach have been both petty and foolish and just shows that if he isn't no 1 he is not a team player
I also think that he moving into an 800000 euro house in the middle of a huge housing crisis doesn't show much empathy with the ordinary people and shows what he really regards as affordable

The funny thing most of the high profile left wing politicians come from pretty affluent middle class backgrounds ,I guess it's easier be idealistic when you are not poor

Can't stand the sight of her, never could. Labour are the great sell out party. Anything to be in power. I doubt she will last too long and will probably be gone at the next general election. With a bit of hope

That law is so Barse Akwards, purporting to protect escorts from prosecution but in reality driving things further underground. It is populist and anti choice. Just because it's the law of the land (for now) doesn't mean it's morally correct.
