Why not leave the post up so people can be seen for who they are? Removing them wipes the slate clean.

Could go on for days with explanations for individual comments but we both know the comment you are referring to.
What I will say, is some comments do not belong here whether they give an insight to the individual poster or not. Depending entirely on each comment, sometimes we are better off removing both the comment and the individual from the community.
I am in the midst of dealing with that specific one - All in due time.

I get your point and I am sure there are arguments to both sides. The end-all-be-all of it is that we are not just a forum, nor is it only the logged in users of the site that visit these parts so at times we need to ere on the side of caution.
