I think both sides should confirm the booking or apologise for cancelling. If she doesnt reply for your confirmation, something is wrong and probably she doesnt wait you. Its not professional from her but there is no sense to come to her place if she didnt confirm too. And if she did, review makes sense.

Have experienced booking an appt with Nina just like she said recently. She asked me to confirm the next morning an hour ahead which i did. Any time i book ahead like that i always confirm beforehand. Its only fair to to the lady in question. Particular as i sometimes like early morning times. Its just common courtesy!
