If someone doesn't feel comfortable taking the vaccine to protect their own health then why would they take it to protect someone else?
I wouldn't expect someone to risk their health to protect mine and I don't think it's reasonable for someone to expect me to risk mine to protect theirs.
This is all a moot point anyway. People are falling over themselves to take the vaccines and and I think the numbers released yesterday show the uptake is somewhere at or around the 80% mark so the vast majority are taking the vaccines.

No, the point you are trying to make is that there is some sort of social obligation to take the vaccine. A sort of "well, if you don't want to take it then I'm gonna guilt you into taking it".
It's a ridiculous assertion but you are trying to put it across. You don't seem to get that if someone has reservations about the vaccine then, quite obviously, they're not going to take it for someone else's benefit. That's not how human beings work.
Absolutely I am making that point, have not hidden it anywhere. And yes I do think anyone who with no reason not to, does not take it is being irresponsible.
That is not the same thing as mandating taking it, and it is in no way a ridiculous assertion. It is how vaccines work. If you think otherwise then you should educate yourself.
And I am free to assert it, not having abused anyone for my opinion, nor interested in being abused for putting mine across.
You are free to continue on by.
A few points:
- don't assume I'm uneducated on the subject
- kindly point out where I've abused you. (I could consider your tone towards me as abusive but I'm not that precious.)
- telling someone with a different opinion to you to get off the thread is not a good look. Is only your opinion allowed?

"It's a ridiculous assertion but you are... "
"You don't seem to get that..."
You are not hiding your disdain here. I offered you the option if you wish merely to make ad hominem attacks, you can pass by.
Share your opinion all you want. I've tried here to stick with facts and answering questions. If you want to argue that facts are not facts then I'm happy to argue that all day long.
Did you take your public health responsibility seriously the other day? Did you waste the time and resources of the frontline healthcare workers trying to end this pandemic?
The whole point of vaccine everyone, is to reduce the chances of the virus mutating into something worse. The more cases, the more chances of mutations. So it's better to reduce the chances. Sure, if you have a million side dice and roll it once, you might roll a 1, but the chance is so slim, however you then roll it 5000 times, then the chance will increase.
Regarding that some few people might get a bad reaction to the vaccine, that's again about the chances. Out of the many already been vaccinated, only a few had bad side effects, however on the other hand with Covid, the bad effects happens on a way higher scale, so the chance of getting a bad result with vaccine vs covid, I'll take my chances any day with the vaccine. We might not know the long term effect of it, but we can already now see some bad side effects from covid recovery, and who knows what else it might bring later down the line.
So sure, you might not get any symptoms or just a light cough from Covid, but it will still add another roll of the dice.
